Centre for Social Impact Swinburne

The Centre for Social Impact Swinburne (CSI Swinburne) was established in 2014 and focuses on building a more sustainable and equitable world through social entrepreneurship and technology; integrating research, education and practice.

A highly industry-engaged, practice-oriented research and teaching centre, CSI Swinburne is based in Swinburne’s School of Business, Law and Entrepreneurship (SoBLE) and is one of four university-based nodes of the highly respected CSI national network .

Interdisciplinary research and graduate courses address four key themes:

  • Social enterprise, business and finance
  • Social and community service innovation
  • Digital inclusion and equity
  • Place-based economies and approaches
  • Impact evaluation and measurement
  • Policy, governance and regulation

Disability Employment Centre of Excellence

CSI Swinburne will lead Australia’s first Disability Employment Centre of Excellence. This initiative, supported by Inclusion Australia, Family Advocacy, Disability Employment Australia, National Disability Services, and the University of Melbourne, unites experts, employers, and people with disability to drive better employment outcomes.
