Good Sammy Open Employment Trials Evaluation

Good Sammy Enterprises (GSE) is a for-purpose social enterprise with a mission to create employment opportunities for people with disability in Western Australia.
GSE trialled two new models of employment support: the Traineeship and licences trial and the Hybrid employment trial.
The trials offered training and work experience to assist people with disability to build their capacity for open employment and to secure employment at workplaces outside GSE.
The Social Policy Research Centre UNSW and Centre for Social Impact UWA conducted a longitudinal mixed methods evaluation to capture the stories, measure the impact, and report on the implications of the trials.
The recommendations from the evaluation may inform how specialist disability employers, like GSE, can play a role in the transition of people with disability in Australian Disability Enterprises (ADEs) into full award wage mainstream employment.
