Emma Barnes

Emma Barnes is a Research Assistant at the Centre for Social Impact UNSW (CSI UNSW) .

She has a strong focus on human rights and conducting research into social inequalities in Australia, in an effort to better understand how institutional and systemic structures impact on individuals, and what can be done to make a more equal and fair society.

Emma has a deep interest in the areas of homelessness and how evidence-based research can inform the ending and prevention of people experiencing homelessness. She is also passionate about providing the voice of lived experiences in research.

She has been involved in a number of projects examining housing and homelessness, one recent project analysed the effectiveness of a Housing First program in Sydney, NSW .
