Peter R McDonald

Peter R McDonald is the Project Officer for the The Data for Good Partnership which has Uniting Communities and the Centre for Social impact working together to explore the rise, use and impact of data on disadvantaged people.

The Partnership will consider emerging priorities in relation to social services and the use of data, especially ‘big’ data. Robodebt has shown us that data is not neutral, rather it is being use for and against people. Through research we will bring this learning to the wider social sector for discussion and debate.

Peter has near 30 years' experience in community and social services through which he has refined a theory of change approach to advocacy and policy work.

Peter has held leadership roles at large agencies and very small community service organisations. Peter started his career in community services as a Uniting Church minister in Renmark South Australia and holds a Masters in Business and Administration from Adelaide University.
