Nicole Trian

Nicole Trian is the Media and Communications Coordinator at the Centre for Social Impact at UNSW (CSI UNSW).

Nicole has more than 15 years’ experience as a journalist and communications specialist in Australia and overseas. Prior to joining CSI, Nicole worked as a reporter and editor at FRANCE 24 covering international stories across the 24-hour television and online newsrooms.

In 2015, she was sent on a foreign mission to Greece to report on the emerging European migrant crisis. Her reportages were later referenced in the Harvard Law School Human Rights Journal. While in Paris, she worked for the Culture sector of UNESCO where she planned and produced communications collateral to promote the protection of culture under threat from conflict and natural or human-induced disaster.

Previously, she was the Manager of Public Relations at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia and spent several years as a reporter and editor for News Ltd and as a features writer for Fairfax/Nine. Nicole has also taught journalism to master’s students at the European Institute of Journalism and magazine publishing at INSEEC business school.
