Georgi MacDiarmid

Georgi MacDiarmid is the National Communications Director at the Centre for Social Impact (CSI), where she shapes communications strategy to uphold its position as an Australian leader in social impact research and education.

With over 20 years’ experience in communications, Georgi brings deep expertise across public relations, marketing, and corporate affairs. Before joining CSI, she was the Head of Media, Marketing and Communications at the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute — a globally recognised leader in medical research — where she was named Employee of the Year in 2017.

Georgi’s career began in broadcast journalism, working as a News Reporter and Chief of Staff at Network Ten, and producing content for ABC, Nine News, and Fox Sports. She has also lectured in Video Journalism at MacLeay College and consulted on science communication with Science in Public.

A strategic thinker with a journalist’s eye for compelling storytelling, Georgi is skilled in brand positioning, digital strategy, crisis communications, and video production. Her work bridges the worlds of media and mission-driven organisations, making complex ideas resonate with clarity and purpose.

She holds a Bachelor of Business (Communications) and a Bachelor of International Studies from the University of Technology Sydney, and has studied internationally at Tec de Monterrey in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Georgi is a mum of two young girls, who loves travel, adventure, the beach and above all, family.
