Dr Laura Lesar

Dr Laura Lesar is a Senior Lecturer at The Centre for Social Impact at Flinders University (CSI Flinders) and an Adjunct Senior Lecturer with Griffith Institute for Tourism, Griffith University.

Her expertise is in the tools for building tourism sustainability and resilience, such as certification programs, sustainability indicators, climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies, capacity building training tools, and ESG reporting. Laura is an experienced researcher in co-design, qualitative methods, and industry-engaged research.

Her research is featured in internationally leading tourism journals, and she serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Travel Research.

Bringing an international perspective, Laura has worked on sustainability and tourism projects in the USA, Australia, South America, and the Pacific for public, private, and non-profit organizations, such as the City and County of Honolulu, Royal Caribbean International, Expedia, Experience Gold Coast, Chile’s Environmental Commission, and Gemtree Wines.

Laura enjoys opportunities for knowledge sharing, and has conducted numerous invited presentations on tools for building sustainability and resilience in the USA, Australia, and Asia-Pacific.

Most recently, she was an invited presenter at two United Nations forums on “AI4ClimateAction”, sharing her expertise on the tools for climate change mitigation, adaptation, and social impact.
