Administering Inequality? The National Disability Insurance Scheme and Administrative Burdens on Individuals

The Centre for Social Impact UNSW used a systematic review of the available literature to examine the use of ‘personalised’ care budget schemes and relative experiences of administrative burden within the NDIS.

In recognising that personalised budget schemes accentuate the role of service recipients as active agents at the centre of their own care, this research applies Bourdieu’s concepts of habitus and capital to reveal how these administrative burdens are experienced differently by different groups.
