Lisette Kaleveld

Lisette Kaleveld is a social researcher at the Centre for Social Impact UWA . Lisette has led significant evaluation projects conducted in academic/research contexts as well as for the not-for-profit and public sectors, and as a consultant.

As evaluation lead for the Assisting Communities through Direct Connection Project, she and her team have investigated the effectiveness of using door-knocking conversations to address mental health, a novel outreach method that has been tested in communities in every Australian state and territory. She has provided oversight in developing a robust research evidence-base, while also utilising complexity-sensitive methods to capture the rich diversity of mental health experiences that exist outside of clinical settings. Read the ACDC report.

Her work in mental health has also included service design and co-design work and, more recently with the WA Mental Health Commission, developing system-level lived experience informed outcome indicators. She is always keen to take on the challenge of combining non-academic and academic ways of knowing to facilitate better research design and solutions, especially for complex social issues.

Lisette has also worked as a journalist, has a Graduate Diploma in Journalism, a Bachelor of Science (First Class Honours, Anthropology), and is co-convener for the Australian Evaluation Society (WA Branch).
