The Centre for Social Impact (CSI) supports a ‘yes’ vote in the upcoming referendum

Landscape

The Centre for Social Impact (CSI) supports a ‘yes’ vote in the upcoming referendum on a constitutionally enshrined Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice.

In saying ‘yes’ to the Voice, we affirm our support for the Uluru Statement from the Heart and its call for substantive constitutional change and structural reform.

Supporting the referendum is an essential step that all Australian citizens can take towards meaningful reconciliation and recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ right to self-determination.

The Voice referendum is a once-in-a-generation opportunity for Australians to shift our system for the better, to build a more equitable society and, in support of the Uluru Statement from the Heart, empower First Nations people to take a rightful place in leading their own future.

CSI is an unincorporated academic collaboration of the University of Western Australia, the University of New South Wales, Flinders University, and Swinburne University of Technology. The members of the CSI Executive Team make this statement in their individual capacities, and not on behalf of their employing universities.
