CSI launches new strategy

The Centre for Social Impact (CSI) is excited to announce its new strategic vision and intent: Catalysing social change for a better world.

Professor Kristy Muir, Chief Executive Officer at CSI last night revealed the Centre’s new strategic vision and intent at a special event in Sydney's CBD "Kristy Muir In Conversation with David Gonski AC".

She said, “I’m so excited to launch this next phase of our work. At CSI, we have clarity of vision, strength of purpose, and are driven in our mission to achieve positive social change in Australia.”

The new strategy, ‘A Better World’, is a fresh approach to tackling complex social issues in Australia. It clearly articulates the Centre’s mission, vision, and purpose, and lays the road map for how CSI will achieve its aims.

“At the core of our strategy is our work: to research, to educate, and to catalyse change,” said Professor Muir.

“We’ve aligned and connected these three areas of focus to specific strategic goals that we believe will be instrumental in achieving social impact. The strategy is the result of working with CSI’s people at UNSW Sydney, Swinburne University of Technology, and The University of Western Australia, and with the support and input from our board of directors and advisory councils. I’m incredibly proud to be leading such a dedicated team, and I know that with this strategy to guide us, we’re going to have significant impact for years to come.”

The strategy is a significant evolution for CSI, and is a sign of maturity in the organisation as it continues to build on the foundation set by previous CEOs, Professor Peter Shergold (2008-2012) and Dr Andrew Young (2012-2016).

CSI Board Chair, Emeritus Professor Richard Henry believes that CSI is now exceptionally well-placed to drive sustainable social impact in a way never seen before.

“It is key to our mission at CSI to act as a catalyst for change. CSI's role is to help others to deliver social impact. The combination of the new strategy and Professor Kristy Muir at the helm is a powerful one. We are well positioned to achieve our determination to help create a better world.”
