Status: Completed May 2013

Authored by: Stephen Bennett in partnership with PwC

The first wave of the PwC-CSI Community Index survey was conducted from May to June 2012, with the second wave conducted from February to March 2013. A representative panel of more than 360 chief executive officers or executive directors in not-for-profit organisations answered over 150 questions across a range of categories to determine confidence in the sector.

Project objectives

The PwC-CSI Community Index provides a national measure of confidence across four key drivers in the not-for-profit sector:

  • Demand
  • Funding
  • People
  • Relationships
  • Strategic and macro factors

The Community Index aims to represent the economic and social importance of the not-for-profit sector in Australia. Only not-for-profit organisations with annual revenue exceeding $250,000 were surveyed.
