UWA CSI Director, Professor Paul Flatau, is chairing this year's Mining for Development Conference 2015 on April 30 in Perth, WA.
This year's conference will explore the theme "Shared Goals - Realising Benefits" throughout a series of workshops, conference keynote addresses, alumni forums and panel discussions. Questions will be asked such as:
How to engage the leaders of today in the best practices surrounding inclusive development?
How can we best develop networks and capacity and how do challenges vary across countries?
How can we empower advocacy among communities, the government and industries to bring about positive mining development?
How can we influence legislation, policy and practice to realise developmental benefits?
An Empowered Women in Mining breakfast held just prior to the first conference session will explore strategies for gender inclusion in mining and its interactions with economies and societies.
