PhD top-up scholarship opportunity - Action on alcohol policy: Views from inside the policy process
The Centre for Social Impact and the Foundation for Alcohol Research and Education (FARE) are offering a top-up PhD scholarship for a candidate to undertake innovative research on the policy-evidence nexus in the context of alcohol policy.
The scope of the research will be to understand the nature of government and policymaking, as it pertains to action on alcohol policy, focusing on how alcohol policy strategies, evidence and discourses align and differ with existing policy processes in Australia.
The project will be primarily supervised by Associate Professor Gemma Carey at the Centre for Social Impact UNSW.
The candidate will be embedded in FARE, offering the opportunity to work alongside practitioners in the field. The position will be based at FARE in Deakin, Canberra with FARE providing office accommodation and resources.The candidate will commence in 2019 and it is envisaged that the PhD candidate will complete the study in 3 1/2 years.
FARE will provide a top-up scholarship of $10,000 per year on-top of the government funded PhD stipdend, for three years ($30,000 in total). Through their co-location with FARE the candidate will:
