The Centre for Social Impact (CSI) today announced the winners of the 2015 Postgraduate Scholarships. Sixteen scholarships were awarded to an outstanding selection of applicants studying the Graduate Certificate in Social Impact across our three university partners: Swinburne University of Technology, UNSW Business School, and The University of Western Australia Business School.
In 2015, CSI awarded two AMP Scholarships and one Shark Island Scholarship each worth $5,000, one National CSI Scholarship to the value of $10,000 and nine CSI Scholarships each to the value of $5,000. In addition, The University of Western Australia Business School awarded three BHP Billiton Social Impact Scholarships, each to the value of $8,300.
“We had an outstanding group of applicants for the 2015 GCSI scholarships and the selection process is always challenging for our judges,” said Dr Andrew Young, CEO, CSI. “Awarding the CSI Scholarships is one of the great privileges of being a provider of education, to be able to give our future leaders an often much needed helping hand on their social impact journey.”
The winner of the CSI National Scholarship, Joanne Petrovic said, “I’m so excited and grateful to have received the CSI National Scholarship. Given my rural location, I was facing a significant financial burden in studying this course, but thanks to the scholarship, I feel that I can manage it. My first subject has a reading called ‘How to change the world’ and I can’t wait to read it as that’s exactly what I want to do!”
