CEO Update - September 2018

Impacting your own world

One of the great privileges of my job is that I get to meet and talk with so many people from across sectors working to achieve social impact. It’s a humbling and empowering army of people who are critical assets and fundamental levers for future change. Investing in our current and future social impact leaders is core to enacting CSI’s purpose of enabling positive social change.

This year we’ve expanded our focus to increase our professional development offerings. With the support of NAB and JBWere we developed and delivered a two-day Governance for Social Impact course to Directors of NFP Boards. Participants reported improved understanding (98%), skills (95%) and confidence (97%) and all said they would highly recommend this course to other NFP Board Members and Executives with a standalone NPS of 90.7. In 2019 we will offer Governance for Social Impact as a micro-credentialed executive education program through the UNSW AGSM – watch this space…

We also developed popular workshops in Outcomes Measurement in WA, designed to enable the social purpose sector to forge ahead in their understanding of when and how to measure their impact. This has been supported by the Bankwest Foundation and some scholarship funding is available.

If you want to find out more about the types of bespoke courses CSI can develop for your organisation be sure to get in touch and we’ll have a chat.

On the undergraduate and postgraduate academic education fronts, our programs have gone from strength to strength. Many of you are probably familiar with at least part of our offerings, but over the past year, we have been upgrading the depth and breadth of our offerings, so I want to take a moment to tell you about them. Our offerings have evolved over time so that we can better respond to the needs of our postgrad students, and the ambitions of our undergrads. The message is clear, they want the skills to create a better society, regardless of their chosen career path.

No matter where you sit, whether you’re an undergraduate just starting out, or you’re further down the track in your career and wanting to make social change a priority in your company or organisation, we’ve got you covered. Be sure to check out our student stories to hear from some of the amazing individuals who study with us.
