Dr Sajal Roy is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Social Impact UNSW.
An engaged researcher and critical ethnographer, Sajal received his PhD in Climate Change Social Science and Development Studies in 2021 from the Institute of Culture and Society at Western Sydney University.
Sajal has contributed to numerous collaborative scholarships in the disciplines of critical development studies, financial wellbeing, refugee crisis management, and climate justice.
His various research projects have secured competitive funding from organisations including the Development Studies Association, UK, the University of Manchester, the Meltzer Foundation, the University of Lund, the UN WFP, WorldFish, and the Social Science Research Council, Bangladesh. In 2021, in collaboration with Griffith Asia Centre, Griffith University, he completed a project titled Gender and Leadership Inclusion in LAOS which received funding from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Australia.
An enthusiastic educator, Sajal has also taught courses spanning Development, International Development, Community Development, Policy, Evaluation and Social Research across UNSW, University of Technology Sydney, University of Wollongong and Australian Catholic University.Back to Our People
