Catherine Mai

Sector Engagement and Research Officer

Catherine Mai is the Sector Engagement and Research Officer at the Centre for Social Impact UNSW. Her expertise spans across a range of areas within outcomes measurement including program evaluation and psychometrics.

Working primarily on Amplify Social Impact Online (Amplify Online), she is one of the lead researchers of the content behind Indicator Engine – the social sector’s first online repository of impact measurement tools that are consistent, evidence-based and accessible. Cat works across both the Amplify and wider research team, engaging extensively with the sector to provide support for using Indicator Engine, and integrating the tool across our evaluation projects.

Alongside Amplify, she also currently works on a range of other projects including measuring health and social outcomes for people living with HIV and completing a secondment in social impact investing with the Australian Government Department of Social Services.

Cat holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance and Accounting) and Bachelor of Economics (Economics) from the University of New South Wales. In 2018, Cat completed a Summer Research Scholarship with CSI UNSW before re-joining the team in 2019. Prior to that, Cat has worked in diverse sectors including finance and the technology start-up space.
