Program Manager - Amplify
Dr Lyndel Spence commenced at CSI UNSW as the Program Manager of Amplify in 2019 and brings an extensive and dynamic experience to the role having worked in academia, research and the not-for-profit sector.
Prior to commencing with CSI, Lyndel worked with the NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet and the NSW Department of Customer Service with a focus on coordinating stakeholders across the public sector, conducting customer research and evaluating and managing a diverse portfolio of projects underpinned by citizen engagement, human centred design and customer centricity.
Lyndel completed a Bachelor of International and Global Studies and Honours in Sociology and Social Policy at the University of Sydney. Her PhD in sociology and social policy focused on intersectionality, activism and the female ordination movement in the Roman Catholic Church.
While completing her PhD she also lectured and tutored at the University of Sydney and contributed towards the development of their social inclusion program, which had a focus on supporting high school students in low socioeconomic areas.
Lyndel also combined her teaching work with media engagements, publications, conferences and advocacy activities.
Lyndel extends her commitment to social justice through various community engagements and volunteering, with the aim of mobilising and supporting others to increase their impact. She is particularly passionate about gender equality and the empowerment of women, and has been a member of Amnesty International’s NSW Women’s Network since 2015.Back to Our People
