Krzysztof Dembek is a Lecturer in Social Impact at the Social Impact Centre Swinburne. Heis an experienced researcher, manager, consultant and teacher with the core expertise in using business strategy, and business models for social impact and complex problem solving. Dr Dembek has also deep expertise in social impact evaluation and management. He has co-developed Actionable Impact Management Framework, a tool aimed to help organisations start tracking and managing their impact.
Applying systems thinking perspective Dr Dembek has extensive global experience delivering high quality research and consulting work with governments, corporate, nonprofit and hybrid organizations, including among others Rio Tito, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ – German Development Agency), Second Muse, and Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. His work spans across many industries including pharmaceutical, forestry, mining, and food. He led an Australia-wide survey of Impact Investing landscape together with Impact Investing Australia in 2016.
Dr Dembek’s work has attracted large amount of funding from governments and private institutions, and has been published among others in Journal of Business Ethics and Journal of Cleaner Production. Prior to joining academia Dr Dembek held executive positions in European companies.
