Brody Smith graduated from UNSW with first-class honours in Mechatronics and Biomedical Engineering. He loves collaborating with good people, and using data and technology to tackle big issues. He believes the best solutions are equal parts science, art, and innovation.
As a student, Brody enjoyed engagements in Uganda, China and the USA - all helping to extend his sense of global citizenship and passion to make the world a better place.
Whilst studying he co-founded Kua, a social enterprise that provides world-positive coffee for workplaces. Kua buys direct from farmers in Uganda, repurposes all coffee waste and uses their profits to mobilise coffee farmers on their journey to climate resilience.
Now as a CSI UNSW tutor, Brody loves to see students become deeply informed on a social issue and then madly passionate about solving it. He believes this type of education is so important for our future.
Brody is a tutor for COMM1000 Creating Social Change: From Innovation to Impact and COMM5030 Social Entrepreneurship Practicum.
You can hear from Brody Smith (and co-founder Darcy Small) in the impact2020 webinar: The journey of Kua.Back to Our People
