UNSW Indigenous business students, Damian Shannon and George Brown, recently attended the Indigenous Business, Corporations and Entrepreneurship Conference hosted by the University of Western Australia (UWA) Centre for Social Impact.
Damian says he aspires to be a future leader in Indigenous business and economic development. In an article for the National Indigenous Times he discusses the impact of the conference and the need to establish new business models to strengthen communities.
“The conference provided George and I with an opportunity to gain a greater insight into the growing Indigenous business sector as well as seeing first-hand the positive impact business and Indigenous entrepreneurship is having on communities all over the country,” says Damian.
The Australian School of Business and The Centre for Social Impact at UNSW provided assistance to Damian and George to attend the conference in Perth.
