Michael Liffman, director of the Asia-Pacific Centre for Social Investment and Philanthropy (APCSIP) at Swinburne University of Technology and co-ordinator of Swinburne's CSI partnership, has been appointed to the Coordinating Committee of Worldwide Initiatives for Grantmaker Support (WINGS).
WINGS is an international peak body for the global philanthropic community, covering over 140 nations and dedicated to strengthening philanthropy and a culture of giving through mutual learning and support, knowledge sharing and professional development of its participants. It s supporters include the Ford and Mott Foundations.
This is the first time Australia has been represented at the 16-member executive level of WINGS, and the first time that any university has been involved. The prestigious appointment gives Australia, CSI and APCSIP a place at the very centre of the world's leading international philanthropic networks.
