How We Work

The Centre's governing structure reflects its core commitments to transparency, flexibility and collaboration. As an academic partnership it will collaborate with its diverse stakeholders in setting goals. It will maintain flexibility to respond to the rapidly evolving needs of the ‘third sector' while being accountable for its decisions and answerable to stakeholders.

The Governing Board comprises the CEO, the Vice-Chancellors of the partner universities and senior representatives of the not-for-profit and corporate sectors, selected from across Australia. It sets strategic directions and approves major decisions on academic and executive programs, research and financial commitments.

The role of the Partnership Group is to ensure the Centre is run collaboratively, within the framework set by the Board. It comprises the Deans of the Business Schools of the three partner universities and their nominees. It meets monthly, rotating between Melbourne and Sydney.

The Centre has established a Sydney Advisory Council and a Melbourne Advisory Council. Each Council comprises senior representatives from the not-for-profit, philanthropic, corporate and government sectors. The Councils provide advice to the CEO on teaching and research priorities, stakeholder relationships and the public policy issues on which the Centre should facilitate discussion. The Councils will also help the Centre in identifying opportunities for experiential learning for its students. Chaired by one of their membership, the Councils meet three times a year. The CEO, Board members and senior staff of the Centre attend on an ex-officio basis and provide a Secretariat.
