Dr Carol Adelman, senior fellow and Director of the Center for Global Prosperity at the Hudson Institute, USA, will present the Heloise Waislitz Oration. Heloise Waislitz is the Chair of the Pratt Foundation. This This free public event will be held in Melbourne on Thursday, 1 November and in Sydney on Monday, 5 November.
Entitled 'Global Philanthropy and Beyond', Dr Adelman's address will explore how global philanthropy has transformed foreign assistance and how new financial mechanisms such as social stock exchanges, impact investing and social entrepreneurship are transforming traditional philanthropy.
The Waislitz Oration is hosted by Swinburne's Asia Pacific Centre for Social Investment and Philanthropy and the Centre for Social Impact.
